'Soane's Greatest Treasure' Coaster
Regular price £2.00
The blue pattern of the hieroglyphs presented on coaster come from the illustrations as depicted on the Sarcophagus of Seti I, drawn by Joseph Bonomi 1864
The sarcophagus of Pharaoh Seti I is regarded by many as the single greatest Egyptian item outside Egypt. Discovered in 1817 in the Seti tomb in the Valley of Kings, by maverick archaeologist Giovanni Belzoni, the sarcophagus now resides in Sir John Soane's Museum in London's Lincoln's Inn Fields.
