An engraving issued by William Hogarth in 1751 that depicts the merits of drinking beer in light of the contemporary gin crisis. Designed to be viewed alongside another engraving, Gin Lane, these scenes satirise the prevalence of moral deprivation as a result of increased gin consumption in the early 18th century.
This print is colour matched to the original and approved by Sir John Soane's Museum. Every purchase supports the work of the museum.
