This watercolour drawing illustrates the 'House of Confucius' at Kew Gardens, designed by William Chambers in the Chinoiserie style which proved tremendously fashionable during the mid 18th century. Chambers took inspiration from the many buildings he drew during his visits to China in the 1740s.
This print is colour matched to the original and approved by Sir John Soane's Museum. Every purchase supports the work of the Museum.
