'Admiral Van Tromp's Barge' by J.M.W Turner Print

Regular price £8.00

Admiral Van Tromp's Barge by JMW Turner print.

JMW Turner and Sir John Soane, although a generation apart, enjoyed a lasting and collaborative friendship. Turner first dabbled in architectural drawing before moving onto painting, and he always said he would have enjoyed being an architect in another life. He met Soane through the Royal Academy, to which institution both men were elected in 1802. Turner became a frequent guest at Soane’s house in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, and Soane served as a mentor, fishing companion, and source of inspiration for Turner’s own house in Twickenham, Sandycombe Lodge. In turn, the landscape artist provided friendship upon the death of Soane’s wife and assisted Soane during RA lectures. The museum boasts three Turners, all in their original frames.

Digital prints are printed in the UK on 250gsm paper sized 280 x 356mm and have a white border. They are packaged in a cello bag with a backing board for protection.
