Ages 7 to 13
Learn to draw cartoons in this fun workshop inspired by our exciting Hogarth exhibition.
In partnership with an expert tutor from The Cartoon Museum, this workshop will offer young people the chance to engage with the historical beginnings of cartoon drawing, before bringing this right up to date with their own creations. We will begin the day with a tour of the Museum, focussing on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see all of Hogarth’s series of paintings and engravings gathered together in one place. Hogarth is often regarded as producing the very first cartoons, with stories occurring over panels of paintings. After this tour, we will return to our art room where Steve from the Cartoon Museum will teach the group the skills they need to make their own cartoon storyboards.
All materials will be provided but please bring a packed lunch along with you. Any questions, feel free to email Emma on firstname.lastname@example.org.
