Petite white teacup with printed stitched illustration by Tobyboo of Fanny the Dog. It comes boxed and would make a lovely gift for dog or Soane museum fans.
Fanny was a much loved and pampered pet of Mrs Soane. She lived to the considerable age of seventeen years and is buried in one of the courtyards of the museum, her monument bearing the inscription: ‘Alas, poor Fanny!’.
Tobyboo is a fine artist specialising in fine art embroidery. Tobyboo took inspiration from the painting of Fanny the Dog by James Ward, she then free machined the image onto cotton and from this transferred the image onto this tea set range. Tobyboo has been wonderful to work with and we love this very sweet tea set.
"The sewing machine makes me come alive; the fluidity, the speed, the risk it's an incredible instrument that I found by chance to keep me sane and is now an extension of my hands."
