An engraving issued by William Hogarth in 1751 that depicts the squalor and despair of a community raised on gin in the parish of St Giles. Designed to be viewed alongside another engraving, Beer Street, these scenes satirise the prevalence of moral deprivation as a result of increased gin consumption in the early 18th century.
