An engraving issued by William Hogarth in 1751 that depicts the squalor and despair of a community raised on gin in the parish of St Giles. Designed to be viewed alongside another engraving, Beer Street, these scenes satirise the prevalence of moral deprivation as a result of increased gin consumption in the early 18th century.
This print is colour matched to the original and approved by Sir John Soane's Museum. Every purchase supports the work of the museum.
