The last in a set of eight paintings which document the rise and fall of a young heir across London. The Rake's Progress was produced by William Hogarth between 1732 - 1734 as preparatory works for engravings published the following year. Soane purchased the series from Christie's in 1802.

This print is colour matched to the original and approved by Sir John Soane's Museum. Every purchase supports the work of the museum.
