This drawing shows Bramante's Tempietto ('small temple') in the courtyard of the Church of San Pietro in Montorio. Referred to as a masterpiece of High Renaissance Italian architecture, this commemorative tomb was heavily influenced by the Temple of Vesta at Tivoli - one of John Soane's favourite examples of classical architecture.
