Seti Inspired Earrings

Regular price £22.00

This brass and teal coloured small earrings were selected as they are inspired by the hieroglyphs from the tomb of Seti I

The blue pattern of the hieroglyphs presented on this mug come from the illustrations as depicted on the Sarcophagus of Seti I, drawn by Joseph Bonomi 1864

The sarcophagus of Pharaoh Seti I is regarded by many as the single greatest Egyptian item outside Egypt. Discovered in 1817 in the Seti tomb in the Valley of Kings, by maverick archaeologist Giovanni Belzoni, the sarcophagus now resides in Sir John Soane's Museum in London's Lincoln's Inn Fields.

This jewellery pieces are made in a fair trade project based in Peru.  It was cut and finished using traditional jewellery techniques by Just Trade project.  The women in this project are paid a fair wage and are offered flexible working hours, meaning they still have time to care for their children as well as making a financial contribution to their households.
