Drawing by Candlelight
An evening exploring the art of architectural drawing
The Soane Museum is home to one of the world’s most important collections of architectural drawings, including works by Piranesi, Gandy, Hawksmoor and a sketchbook studied by Michelangelo.
From 17 October – 18 November 2018, this collection will be joined by an exhibition of contemporary architectural drawings brought together through The Architecture Drawing Prize – an international competition for architectural drawing created in collaboration with Make Architects and the World Architecture Festival.
Join us on the final weekend of The Architecture Drawing Prize exhibition to celebrate the art of architectural drawing at this exclusive after-hours candlelit event. Explore the exhibition and museum, hear curators’ talks, watch demonstrations and participate in hands-on drawing workshops – while sipping a glass of wine. Over the evening you can enjoy the full run of the Museum with the rare opportunity to take photos, as well as to sketch.
There are two entry times: 6.00pm and 7.30pm. Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes.
